Hawkeye, one of the Avengers original six members, is now getting his own limited series on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney Plus. On Sept. 13, it was announced  that the famous archer would be coming to television screens everywhere on Nov. 24, just in time for the beginning of this year’s holiday season.

In this limited series installment, Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner, is reeling from the aftermath of events that occurred in “Avengers: Endgame.” Renner previously took on the role of “Ronin,” a more deadly, lethal version of Hawkeye in the fourth Avengers movie. Trying to put his past behind him, he discovers and teams up with another well-known archer from Marvel Comics, Kate Bishop. Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld, takes on the mantle of the world-class archer while Barton was absent from the crime-ridden streets of New York.

The trailer explores Hawkeye trying to live a normal life, such as making up for lost time with his family since his children did not survive “the snap” by Thanos in the beginning of “Avengers: Endgame.” In one scene, Barton can be seen with his children as they are going to see “Rogers: The Musical” on Broadway, in memory of Captain America not being currently present in the MCU. Barton is also seen wearing hearing aids, a notable accessory he wears in the comics that has never been brought to life until now. The trailer also explores a new setting, as Hawkeye is fighting new villains in a Christmas-themed New York.

“I have seen the trailer and I immediately loved the Christmas surroundings with it,” sophomore Alyssa Floresdevalgas said.

Hawkeye, also known as Clint Barton, has been present in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for quite some time now, but viewers will be getting a new glimpse into the ever-evolving story of one of the founding members of the Avengers.

“I also really liked the fact that they’re making Hawkeye look more like an actual fighter instead of just a male Katniss Everdeen,” Floresdevalgas said.

With the possibility of new and returning characters, fans have their sights on one character that was previously explored in Marvel’s Netflix series installments.

One of the most fan-loved series on Netflix, “Daredevil”, explored Matt Murdock, blind attorney by day, crime fighting vigilante by night. The series included notable characters such as the Punisher, and Kingpin, also known as Wilson Fisk. With rumors swirling that “Hawkeye” could delve into the expansion of the multiverse as phase four progresses, fans hope these characters will make their return to Disney Plus.

“Wilson Fisk for sure. He’s just rumored I think but I haven’t seen him since “Daredevil” and it would be awesome if this is how they bring Matt Murdock back into the MCU,” Floresdevalgas said.

While there has only been one trailer released, it is evident fans will experience an entire new scope of action and adventure with Hawkeye. From the addition of new characters such as Kate Bishop, and rumored characters such as Wilson Fisk, fans are in for a joyride with the new limited series. This holiday season, “the best gifts come with a bow” as Hawkeye premieres on Disney Plus Nov. 24.
