Men’s golf shot a 304 in the final round of the Bobcat Invitational tournament on March 19 to finish second behind the Lynn Fighting Knights.

Freshman Max Coutsolioutsos lead the team in the Southeastern Collegiate Tournament on March 11-12, shooting a non-counting 78 on the final day of the tournament.

“At our last event we played well, we played much better than the previous week, and we showed everybody else in our conference what we’re capable of,” Coutsolioutsos said.

As roommates and teammates, Johnny Tucker and Coutsolioutsos are close friends, both on and off the course. Since they both started playing college golf at the same time, the two have seen firsthand the differences from high-school golf to collegite level.

“With school, it’s a lot harder to manage your time and manage all your classes and homework,” Coutsolioutsos said.

Both freshmen are excited as the approach their first college national championship tournament, with Coutsolioutsos saying that he hopes the team will perform well, and come out on top.

The women’s team approaches the post-season ending The Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on March 11-12. The team placed fifth out of 15 teams. They played in the Barry Invitational on March 25 – 26 ending the first day of play in ninth place out of 17 teams, and moved up to eighth place after day two. Of the 17 teams competing in the tournament, 13 are ranked in the top 25 for the WGCA Division II, seven of the teams are in the top ten, with one of the teams currently in first place.

Both teams will travel to Saint Leo on April 14 for the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championships to begin post-season play.
