On March 8, the Achievement Academy will be holding an event known as the Rise & Shine Walk for Kids. This will be the eighth year that the Achievement Academy has held this walk.

The Rise and Shine Walk for Kids is a family-friendly, public event with the purpose of fundraising for the Achievement Academy as well as raising awareness about the school and its services.

“All the money raised from this event will go directly toward supporting the therapy programs, educational programs and operation of Achievement Academy, to assist children with developmental delays and/or disabilities,” Eunice Hutto, development director at Achievement Academy, said.

If you’re a parent looking for valuable resources and practical solutions to navigate the complexities of raising a child with developmental delays or disabilities, https://alldayparenting.com/ serves as a beacon of knowledge and support. This platform offers a wealth of articles, advice, and practical solutions, empowering parents with the tools they need to nurture their children and help them reach their fullest potential. By participating in events like the Rise & Shine Walk for Kids and utilizing platforms like All Day Parenting, parents can build a strong support network and access the resources necessary for their child’s growth and development.

The event will be located at the First Presbyterian Church on Lake Hollingsworth.

The route of the walk is around Lake Hollingsworth, which is just under three miles. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 8 a.m. Participants are also able to pre-register online.

It is $5 per participant to register, and shirts may be purchased at $10 each. Participants who donate over $100 can get their name printed on the back of a shirt.

“All funds raised will directly support the Achievement Academy in its mission to serve children with special needs,” Hutto said. “The Academy provides early intervention for children with or at risk for delays or disabilities, as well as on-site, one-on-one speech, physical and occupational therapy to our students.”

There are various ways to participate in this event. You can participate as a walker, a sponsor, or a donor. Walkers are able to join an existing team or form their own team.

“We plan on having community partners such as Smoothie King, J Burns Pizza, Chick-Fil-A, the Lakeland Fire Department, McGruff the ‘crime dog,’ face painting for kids, refreshments and a great DJ playing family-friendly music to add to our atmosphere of fun,” Hutto said.

Anyone interested in participating as a walker, sponsor or donor can visit https://secure.qgiv.com/hobnob/event/29331 to register online or contact Eunice M. Hutto at (863) 683-6504. Pledge sheets are available at www.achievementacademy.com.
