The Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center’s doors opened on Nov. 1 to a crowd of locals and students. Other people in attendance included the Geico gecko. After the official ribbon cutting ceremony, visitors were welcomed into the house and the gift shop. Docents greeted visitors and answered any questions they had about the structure.

The campus now has 13, rather than 12, of Frank Lloyd Wright’s works.  The new structure was based on an old design of  Wright’s for faculty housing that was never built. With the new center, the building has finally seen the light of day.
