The water ski team, which was ranked fourth in the nation, finished fourth overall at the Connelly Skis NCWSA National Championship Earlier this month earlier this month.

For individual awards, junior Tanguy Dailland, and sophomore Valentina Gonzales finished second in their respective trick competitions. Junior Allie Nicholson finished runner-up
in the women’s slalom with freshman James Calhoun finishing fourth in the
men’s slalom.

Sophomore Aris Techoueyres finished top ten in two events with a seventh place finish in slalom and fifth place in trick.

Freshman Paige Rini finished third in the women’s trick and senior Samantha Dumala finished fourth in the slalom.

Out of the 12 teams competing in the championship, only UL Monroe, Louisiana, and Alabma finished ahead of the Mocs.

“The atmosphere was electric and will be something I remember for a long
time,” Landon Geels, profile on right, said.

Geels transferred into FSC as a sophomore to join the team this season. He credits the teams success to a strong family bond from the first day of practice.

“I think everyone on the team has their eyes set on a National Championship
for next season,” Geels said. “We will have a lot of incredibly talented skiers returning to the team which will give us an awesome place to start and we have some very promising recruits that are guaranteed to make a difference for our team.”

After their travels to Tupelo, Mississippi and San Marcos, Texas, the Mocs will spend the rest of the semester on Lake Hollingsworth looking to make the jump from fourth to first next season with their strong group of returning student-athletes.
