As we come to the end of this semester, seniors begin to graduate and leave their lasting impressions. Sienna Caldwell is one of the many seniors graduating from FSC, she was involved in sorority, environmental studies and worked at the wellness center as well.

The Office of Student Disability Services has built several sensory rooms across campus to accommodate all students. They incorporate their spaces into campus events, like Convocation, and provide a variety of quiet spaces to work at.

A good TV show not only connects with audiences but also transports them into its world. Viewers become fans, who then connect with others to dive into theories, create fan art and build online communities open to anyone who loves the show. But what happens when the lines between fiction and reality blur? With many new and returning summer shows, there has been a rise in cyberbullying targeting casts and crews.

FSC students returned to campus this fall to find some big changes in the dining services on campus. Mostly centered around Wynee’s Bistro, the changes include an allergy-friendly station, an expanded salad bar and a new and improved international menu rotation designed to bring flavors from around the world to campus.

Lakeland just got a little more sweeter by adding the Dirty Dawg Pop Shop that just opened on Aug. 1. They are located inside the Lakeland Ice Cream Company. Dirty Soda and Dirty Popcorn are all under the brand Dirty Dawg Pop Shop. The address is located off of 2972 Lakeland Highlands Rd. The name of the shop comes after their dogs’ names which they have special dirty sodas named after.

Sept. 10 kicked off a new initiative by FSC President Dr. Jeremy P. Martin. Rather than just once a semester, Dr. Martin will be going back to FSC’s roots by hosting Convocation on the second Wednesday of every month. The hope is that more frequent Convocations will allow the student body to gather the FSC community to talk about values important to the school. 

Dance Marathons have happened all across the country. At FSC, the event first came to campus spring of 2023 as an initiative to raise money for children with cancer, especially supporting the Children’s Miracle Network at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. Executive Director of this initiative Chloe Lanham has helped bring Dance Marathon back to campus after a short hiatus last year.

“The Little Dog Laughed” is a play written by Doug Carter Beane in 2006. It centers around two lovers navigating a world that challenges their ability to keep their passion alive for each other. Despite its intriguing title, the play itself unfortunately does not involve a dog. Its focus lies elsewhere, exploring human connections and societal pressures. The story revolves around Mitchell Green, a prominent movie star on the verge of landing his big breakthrough role. However, his sexuality poses a challenge to his career with social norms surrounding the Hollywood scene.
