Lakeland residents should not have to wonder whether the development taking shape in their community will threaten their water, strain the already aging infrastructure or change the character of their neighborhood without having a meaningful say in the decision. That is why, when it comes to hyperscale data centers, the choice for construction should be with local governments to ensure citizens’ voices are heard.

As a senior at Florida Southern College, I have watched the dining options on campus change almost every year. From renovations to Wynee’s Bistro to new food concepts, the college has continued to find ways to improve the student dining experience. While the loss of Steak ’n Shake may be disappointing for some students, I believe Chicken Guy is a wonderful addition to campus.

There has been a lot of tension surrounding Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” with strong opinions regarding the major plot points that were taken out and drastic character changes that differ from the Greek poet Homer’s version of “The Odyssey.” On the other hand, some viewers believe that Nolan had every right to take the creative liberty he did regarding his film.

The Tennis team at Florida Southern has been on a roll since the season began in early March.  The Men’s and Women’s teams both have winning records heading into the back half of April looking to continue their success.
