RV Florida Southern men’s basketball has 15 wins before the end of January for the third year in a row, but this team isn’t like any other. If you’ve followed men’s basketball at all this year you know of their unorthodox playing style, lack of size and carousel of characters, both on the court and on the bench. However, what makes this team truly special is the lack of a box to put them in for better or worse.

In the 11th season of head coach Mike Donnelly’s tenure at Florida Southern the portal has become the ultimate tool for a Florida Southern program that has continued to laugh in the face of a rebuild.

FSC men’s and women’s swim teams are under new leadership for the first time in over seven years. Head coach Steven Bostick became the sixth head coach of both teams in program history this June, filling the role Andy Robbins left in the wake of his retirement.

The 2025 SSC Preseason Coaches Poll was recently released, listing FSC as the team to beat. After back-to-back years at the top, coaches around the conference believe they have what it takes to repeat again. FSC received 81 points in the voting, along with nine first-place votes.  Having high expectations is great, but the team isn’t putting much stock in these polls.

FSC’s track and field team is running full speed into one of its strongest seasons in years. With new school records, a positive team culture, and rising freshman talent, the team is determined to stand out. 

The No. 18 men’s basketball team’s season came to a close in the South Regional Semifinal against No. 3 University of Alabama Huntsville in a 97-86 loss.

The women’s basketball team has had an eventful new year with five Sunshine State Conference matchups over the last few weeks. During the stretch the Mocs started off 0-4, with the last three losses all being decided by two possessions, but have now found their first win of 2025 with their win over Saint Leo Jan. 18.

The No. 8 men’s basketball team has stumbled over their last two games, going 0-2 over the stretch, tying the number of losses they had over the first 17 games of the season.
