  Lakeland just got a little more sweeter by adding the Dirty Dawg Pop Shop that just opened on Aug. 1. They are located inside the Lakeland Ice Cream Company. Dirty Soda and Dirty Popcorn are all under the brand Dirty Dawg Pop Shop. The address is located off of 2972 Lakeland Highlands Rd. The name of the shop comes after their dogs’ names which they have special dirty sodas named after.

  In May of this year, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to cease federal funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In June, the House approved a rescission package to reclaim $1.1 million of federal funding that CPB received this year. Both the Public Broadcasting Service and the National Public Radio will be losing funding at the end of the fiscal year, as they are both funded by CPB.

  The 2025 SSC Preseason Coaches Poll was recently released, listing FSC as the team to beat. After back-to-back years at the top, coaches around the conference believe they have what it takes to repeat again. FSC received 81 points in the voting, along with nine first-place votes. Gen-Z loves these types of shows because they keep them on their toes and it allows them to be actively engaged in how the show will end.

Despite its intriguing title, the play itself unfortunately does not involve a dog. Its focus lies elsewhere, exploring human connections and societal pressures. The story revolves around Mitchell Green, a prominent movie star on the verge of landing his big breakthrough role. However, his sexuality poses a challenge to his career with social norms surrounding the Hollywood scene.

When I first began my academic career at Florida Southern College, it is safe to say I was overwhelmed by all the opportunities and chances to get involved both on and off campus. I wanted to make a name for myself and take advantage of all the opportunities I had available out of nowhere. With the high expectations I had set for myself, it was a good thing that I heard about the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship before it was too late for me to apply. The Gilman scholarship turned out to be the perfect fit for me. However, I didn’t apply for the program until my senior year of college.
