On Saturday, Nov. 4, Florida Southern College took part in there first ever Extra Life event. Extra Life is a charity event that allows gamers to do what they do best in support of its parent company, the Children’s Miracle Network. Children’s Miracle Network is a charity group representing hospitals in the United States, Canada, and the UK. The charity group raises money for children’s care in those hospitals and for medical research on diseases affecting children.
The Florida Southern community will be showcasing Extra Life from its very own Snake Pit. During the course of the twelve-hour event over 50 different games were played and 4 different video game tournaments occurred.
With a first-year goal of $500 dollars, Florida Southern College has decided to take part in this global charity event.
As of Nov. 8, Florida Southern College has raised a total of $245 for John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Donation for Extra Life will continue to run until Dec. 31, and the donation link can be found here: Florida Southern College Extra Life Event
