Florida Southern students had the opportunity to take a trip to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park on Saturday, Sept. 1 through FSC’s Discover Florida program.
Over 50 students were able to experience the magic of a day at Disney for special discounted price of $95 or $45 for Annual Passholders. The trip included a meal voucher and transportation to and from the park.
The trip was aimed to help students get away from the stress of campus life and enjoy a day experiencing what Florida has to offer. Having this trip so early in the year is also a way to help freshmen students branch out and meet fellow Mocs.
“When I got on the bus, I was nervous because I didn’t go with any of my friends, but all of the people around me were so nice and we instantly became friends. We spent the entire day together,” sophomore Gabby Liddell said.
Liddell says the trip was perfectly planned and students were able to get on nearly every ride and visit every attraction they wanted to, including Space Mountain, the People Mover, Peter Pan, and more.
“We even got to ride my two favorites, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain and ended just in time to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks show. A perfect ending to a perfect day,” Liddell said.
The Discover Florida program has been dedicated to getting Florida Southern students out and about to explore all that the sunshine state has to offer, no matter what their interests are.
Trips range from amusement parks, to theatrical performances, and even outdoor thrills like rock climbing and kayaking. These trips are offered all throughout the year and during specific college breaks for students who are remaining on campus.
If you haven’t yet been on a Discover Florida trip you still have time. Upcoming events this year include a trip to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, Hollywood Studios, Cocoa Beach, the Salvador Dali Museum and many more.
